Lyrianne Skyroot

Lyrianne is a talented Dracoling Clothier and seamstress native to the plane Rol'na. She is the youngest of three, and currently suffering a crisis of faith as the Goddesses of the Three Songs have recently claimed her mother as one of their prophets.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Lyrianne is of medium build and average physical condition. She prefers to spend her time sewing, meditating, or conversing with friends and therefore has limited endurance. She is otherwise considered a healthy young adult Dracoling in her prime.

Facial Features

As with all Dracoling, Lyrianne bears the customary ear holes and ear fins of her species, with her remaining features bearing the appearance of a scaled Human. Her dark blue eyes survey the world with compassionate interest, and the multicolored swirl of a Portal Mark adorns her left cheek before extending down her neck.

Identifying Characteristics

Lyrianne's scales bear a loose pattern of multicolored swirls, the hallmark of frequently exposure to Portal Travel. Her mother served as a Portal Guide during her pregnancy in Rol'nara tradition, to allow Lyrianne to develop these markings due to their value in the beauty standards of the Rol'nara. Lyrianne's markings are all due to travel during early development, and as a result her only noticeable mark when fully dressed is a single swirl on her left cheek and extending down her neck.

Special abilities

Lyrianne possesses the natural magical attunent of the Dracoling, although she has limited formal training in its mastery. She does regularly tap into these abilities to fine tune her hearing, another Dracoling trait. She has an intuitive aptitude with Threadmancy which contributes to her skill as a Clothier as well as her hairstyles.

Apparel & Accessories

Lyrianne wears a beloved travel cloak held at the neck by a silver clasp displaying three musical notes. The outer lining is a dull brown with a weather resistant coating, added by the Goddess Patheia as a gift. The inner lining bears the traditional multicolored patterning of the Rol'nara and was sewn by Lyrianne's own hand.

Mental characteristics

Education

Lyrianne took limited magical lessons from Master Dorian, a renowned Naturalist, but drove him to quit and blacklist her as a result of her antics. As a result her Threadmancy is largely self taught.

Employment

Lyrianne is self employed as a Clothier and seamstress. Her skills with the thread and needle serve as her only advertisement of her trade, and they are sufficient for her to lead a modest but comfortable life.

Mental Trauma

Lyrianne's beloved mother has been diagnosed with Dementia. She currently resides at the House of Flowers as the newest prophet of the Goddesses of the Three Songs, and Lyrianne is still trying to come to terms with her sense of loss.

Lyrianne has a kind heart and dreams for a world of harmony in the Three Songs. Despite her likeability she tends to keep few personal friends but they are close, beloved friends. She is fiercely loyal to everyone within her circle, family and friends alike.

Lyrianne is empathetic and loving to a fault, frequently putting others' needs before her own. She is protective of her friends and family, frequently showering them with hand sewn gifts. She is a creature of determination and pushes through adversity, even if emotionally she feels unprepared to shoulder the strain.

Lyrianne is stubborn to a fault, a troublesome personality feature which has gotten her into trouble on many occasions. She can be quick to jump to conclusions, and while her logic for these conclusions is sound given the facts she knows at the time she is disinterested in proving her hypothesis once she has made her decision.

Lyrianne's instinctive use of Threadmancy also allows her to perfectly control other fibers such as each strand of her hair. As a result she has never had a bad hair day since she discovered her natural talent.

Lyrianne is the youngest of three and is the closest to their mother. She has a strong relationship with her father, as well as her older siblings Nai'a and A'drol, and enjoys time spent with her brother's wife Tianna Skyroot and their three children as well. She has no other family and no romantic interests.

Religious Views

Lyrianne is an ardent follower of the Three Songs, trusting the Goddesses to sing for the good of the world in most things. Due to her mother's Dementia she has found herself questioning some of the tenets of her faith, particularly those pertaining to the Goddesses' selection of prophets.

Social Aptitude

Lyrianne is highly likeable, with her generous nature and empathetic personality. She has a tendency to draw people towards her to assist in her projects to the point she does not understand when others have difficulty finding help with their own efforts, at least until they recruit her support. Despite her ease mingling with others she considers herself an introvert. Even with her love of family she prefers her own company when she needs relax and recharge. She does of course take the Rol'nara values of family and community to heart and quickly returns to seek out the company of loved ones once she is feeling more herself.

Mannerisms

While quick to stand up for herself or speak if she has something to say, Lyrianne is content to listen to the conversations of those around her until drawn in as a participant. Due to the vast mix of sapient species across Rol'na Lyrianne and her family are more vocally social than the average Dracoling. She does need to tap into the Dracolings' natural magical attunement to enhance her hearing, and she utilizes her ear fins as well, but noisy environments do not overwhelm her with sound. She does share the expressive body language common to most Dracolings.

Hobbies & Pets

She enjoys sewing, and although she spends her days working as a Clothier and seamstress she still finds time to sew gifts for her family, including toys and costumes for her neices and nephew. She generally utilizes the multicolored fashions popular in Rol'na for these creations.

History

Lyrianne is the loving kid sister of the family, and as such A'drol has always felt overprotective of her and her childlike outlook on life. Even now, with a family of his own, A'drol still includes her as a priority in his family's lives. Lyrianne for her part looks up to A'drol as both a beloved big brother and a pillar of fatherhood to her neices and nephew. She loves spoiling his family with sewn gifts and takes great pride in their accomplishments.

Despite their official relationship of aunt and niece, Lyrianne and Gianna treat each other more like sisters due to the mere three years difference in age. Growing up the two were largely inseparable until the birth of Gianna's brother No'lan. Lyrianne adores her niece and admires her dedication to her studies, a trait which Lyrianne herself still struggles to emulate.

Tianna has known Lyrianne since before she was born, frequently treating her sister-in-law more akin to a niece than a sister. She does grow frustrated with her husband A'drol for doting on his younger sister when she would prefer he put that attention into their own children, but she does appreciate Lyrianne's assistance and attention when caring for the younger children. Lyrianne grew up watching Tianna and her brother start their family. She admires her sister-in-law and her attention and encouragement towards her own children, and hopes to follow her example some day when she begins her own branch of the family. She does wish that Tianna would treat her more like a sister and less like a child, but recognizes that Tianna's presence in her life since her own infancy tends to color Tianna's perspectives.
