History of the Church of the Heathen Prophet and its impacts on the Northern Reach.
Before the Prophet
The Giftwood Loggers were founded, building the Giftwood Lumber Mill and a small logging camp at a strategic point of the Islette River.
Northwood, formerly considered a temporary logging camp attached to the Giftwood Loggers, officially recognized as its own village.
Time of the Prophet
Dahlia Povi was voted as Chief Speaker, leader of the Church of the Heathen Prophet, upon the death of the prior Chief Speaker.
Dahlia Povi declares a quest for the secret retreat of the Heathen Prophet, providing information on its existence and clues to its whereabouts by sharing a letter to the Heathen Prophet from his Aunt Moria. The Heathen Church once again became a popular subject in everyday conversation.
When a possible historical location for Sarkav Borskalux's remote retreat was discovered within the Nomuran Forest the Church was quick to name their quest a success and declare the site holy. A red chapel was built at the remote location and the faithful were encouraged to visit the site to seek the Prophet's blessings and assistance. Church participation surged, as did donations to the chapel's upkeep. A booming tourism grew to support the pilgrims traveling to the site, eventually resulting in a town christened Red Chapel after the small building at its center.
The Church of the Heathen Prophet constructed an annex on their religious site at Red Chapel to house the top Church administration and declared Red Chapel the center of the Church of the Heathen Prophet. Through persuasion of key officials throughout the area Chief Speaker Dahlia Povi also affected the renaming of the Nomuran Forest to the Prophet's Woods, further raising the profile of the Heathen Prophet and his Church. Thus began the true expansion of the Church throughout the Prophet's Woods.
Dahlia Povi died peacefully, of old age.
The founding of the Portal Exchange revolutionized travel and greatly altered the lives and culture of the Rol'nara.
For thirty four years the Heathen Crusades resulted in military skirmishes and wanton vandalism performed by privately funded militias in the name of the Church of the Heathen Prophet.
Upon gaining full political control of the Northern Reach the Church of the Heathen Prophet officially declared Red Chapel as the new capital, elevating the religious backwater city into the political powerhouse of the entire territory.
Arcturia officially annexed into the territories governed by the Church of the Heathen Prophet.
