The party has finally left Stronghold to find themselves traveling through the Depths of the Great Plains.
Characters and Downtime
This article will explain how multiple characters can be used in a campaign when it is acceptable to switch characters, how the traveling "caravan" reaches each location so that you can switch characters and finally how we use downtime.
Common
The most standard language that unites the world in trade, diplomacy and divides it just as easily. Speakers of this language come from all races and live almost everywhere in the world.
Elvish
A widely spoken language that is considered one of the most beautiful, used primarily in songs, poems and pieces meant for entertainment.
Dwarvish
A widely spoken language that is known for harsh speech and roughly cut script that is used for highly scientific concepts such as measurements, values, and navigation.
Infernal
Long has the language of evil beings existed, often given in visions and found written in the blood of dark rituals this is the lower language used by creatures commonly referred to as demons.
Astral
The Astral language is considered both rare and mystical, associated with fortune-telling and the fate of mortal life and on occasion prophecies.
Celestial
A language that is spoken among many learned people but it is slightly complex in application due to several parts of the script being redundant and having meaning only through context.
Djinn
This language is one of the most secretive of Isekai, few have heard it spoken and the script is difficult to learn because of how unwilling the native speakers are to grant knowledge of the language.
Abyssal
A language that is seldom spoken even by creatures that call upon the aid of demons and monsters, the sound of it is said to cause anxiety and headaches in mortal creatures that it hear for prolonged amounts of time.
Deep Common
A language that is widely spoken in the areas known as Káto and the Lost Paths, massive expanses of tunnels and caverns that compose an interconnected world.
Draconic
A language that is widely popular due to the race it is associated with but it is seldom known fluently, rather it is used as decoration or single words are used.
Sylvan
Sylvan is the first language to be spoken by a creature on Isekai, it was the original language of the Ancient Fey and permeates nearly every corner of the world through the many descendants of the Ancient Fey as they spread throughout the world.
Dark Sylvan
A language that came about in the dangerous caverns of Káto, it is known as the oldest language of the caverns and tunnels that permeate Isekai.
Deep Speech
A strange and eerie language that is seldom spoken about even in whispered and hushed voices, it does not originate on the world of Isekai and seems to function in a completely different way than most languages.
Obsidic
This is the most iconic language of those that live within the great seas of Isekai and is thought to be the language that all others under the water stem from.
Centaurian
A language that is spoken by a small population that seems to share a strange connection to the Astral language but no historical intermingling of these languages can be substantiated by fact.
Giant
A language from the far north that the kin of the Ancient Fey use, the script of Giant is often seen on abandoned structures in the Neither Tundra the size of which are colossal.
Goblin
The Goblin language is often considered simple and unsophisticated but that has evolved as an opinion of human scholars more due to their animosity towards the monster race because of their long and bloody history.
Halfling
Halflings have long been considered to be an offshoot of the human race, their language is no exception as the script borrows heavily from the Common language in how the letters are shaped.
Orc
This language is comprised of screeches, grunts, and grinding of teeth that often cause pain by those that attempt to speak it above what is considered a whisper.
Protarchikós
This is a cryptic language that is the delight of Dwarven Artisans and explorers that pursue the world in search of the strange creatures known as Elementals.
Avian
This language belongs to the Avian people of the world and seems to share some vocal similarities with a dialect of Protarchikós known as Aéras with the added sound of peels that are unique to large bird species.
Aéras
A language that is spoken the least out of the primordial dialects and is often associated with some species of ancient avian creatures that persist in the highest mountain ranges of the world.
Neró
A language spoken widely under the waters that often finds its way up into the coastal towns in phrases or single words but under the waves of the sea this language is more widely circulated than Common is on the dry land.
Chóma
Speakers of this language are sparse and usually will be Earth Elementals and the strange creatures that are made of minerals, often they live far under the earth or near active volcanoes.
Pyr
A language that is rarely spoken except by Elemental creatures or Dragons that have the ability to breathe fire, this language incorporates hisses and cracks into speech in ways that exhaust most creatures that attempt to learn it.
Taurian
This language was once widely spoken in throughout the Mystic Jungle and beyond in the bordering lands as the native language of the proud Minotaur race but today it has become a novelty in the current age.
Deep Dwarvish
A course and grumbling language that is described as unpleasant by some and enchanting by others, it has a unique quality that when spoken by an expert they can cause it to echo almost endlessly or fall dead upon the stone caverns of Káto.
Feline
This speech was once known as Yowling in slang terms, it can often be heard from a great distance and over high winds or the dull roar of a crowd because of the piercing sounds that make up the common words and phrases of this language.
Forked Tongue
A language that was once considered vile, uncivilized and on the same level as Orc or Goblin by most cultures and depending on who you ask they may still identify it as such.
